Here
is the White Paper, written by IT In-Depth's Anura ['SNA'] Guruge
that fills in the details to Mac Devine's CCL/z interview --
featured on the right.

This
is a major update to the V1R2 White Paper that was available here.
This White Paper is also still available at
ibm.com -- if you would rather get it from there.
V1.2.1 makes the CCL/z even more attractive. With this release the
CCL/z ceases to be just a software-based replacement for the aging
37xxs. Instead it, with features such as integrated DLSw and XOT,
also offers some key SNA modernization options. The CCL/z v1.2.1 is
a bit less than an actual 37xx but at the same time offers a
bit more!

Transforming
standard
z/OS FTP into a
mainframe utility
Anura Guruge
IT
In-Depth
The management features of z/OS FTP,
even at v1.8, can not, by any stretch of the
imagination, be construed as offering sufficient
security, automation or real-time and historical
monitoring for mission-critical, high-volume mainframe
FTP operations. That is irrefutable. z/OS
customers thus have no choice but to implement an
ancillary "FTP Manager" to prevent mainframe FTP
operations running out-of-control. This White Paper
discusses the ground-breaking SDS FTP Manager (SFM).
